Biometrics - How it Works
Biometrics uses computer technology to record and match the
unique physical and/or behavioral characteristics of an individual
against a database of enrollees. There is an initial enrolment
step that each person needs to complete before being able
to use a biometric device. This step takes an initial measurement
set of the particular attribute being used (eg finger) and
stores this for future comparisons. Once the enrolment has
been completed the person concerned can use the system.
