Objective
Qantas is Australia’s largest airline with approximately
120,000 staff worldwide. Qantas operates in a competitive
environment and were looking to streamline their processes,
to have accurate recording of staff attendance and also
improve on-time departures.
Solution
PeopleKey installed Fingerscan hardware and software systems
and a data integration program called “Data Manager"
across several major Australian airports.
Data Manager captures data directly from existing Qantas
systems and combines it with actual attendance data
from the Fingerscan system. This allows Qantas Works
Controllers to have a completely up to the minute view
of staffing levels at the airports.
Result
Approximately 3000 staff currently utilise the system
on a 24-hour basis. This number is growing steadily.
Qantas now have a highly accurate time and attendance
system that allows them to monitor and delegate staff
numbers to required areas. This has greatly improved
work planning and control efficiency, resulting in a
higher percentage of on-time departures.
Staff are able to clock on and off from multiple locations
with ease and assurance.
The new PeopleKey System is capable of generating detailed
reports, which provide Qantas with highly accurate payroll
data. The reports also help Qantas identify key point
indicators in workplace efficiencies.
